The stick comes with a Wi-Fi remote, and also has the added bonus of voice search technology, like the latest versions of the Amazon Fire TV stick and Apple TV. What’s more, you’ll be able to pause TV on all of Now TV’s live channels, which is a nice touch if you don’t want to sign up for an expensive and lengthy Sky TV contract.

Buy the Now TV Stick from Argos, Tesco and Sainsbury’s, and from the Now TV website

Like previous Now TV boxes, the Now TV streaming stick is manufactured by Roku. And true to form, Now TV – or rather Sky – has also managed to significantly undercut the price of its Roku counterpart, the Express Streaming Player, which currently costs £29. The perk to buying the Roku Express, of course, is that you’re not limited to using Sky’s selection of apps, so you can also use it to stream Netflix and Amazon Video.

As an aside, if you want to be able to stream in 4K, you’ll need the more expensive Roku Streaming Stick+, which is £69 on Amazon. Today only, you can get another £10 knocked off by entering the Amazon Big Thanks Sale discount code BIGTHANKS at the checkout. This brings it down to a bargain £59.

Now TV has also announced a range of improvements to its service: from spring, you’ll be able to download Now TV content to your phone or tablet, although the company has said it’ll roll this functionality out with the Kids pass first, so don’t expect to be able to download Game of Thrones of Fortitude any time soon.

By the end of the year, the company is also promising that all of its content will be available in full HD. That hardly sounds like it a big deal in 2018, but it’s important to remember Now TV has always played second fiddle to Sky’s premium services.

Finally, it’s also been announced that you’ll soon be able to subscribe to a contract-free Now TV broadband package, without bundling it with a Now TV pass. Prices for the service start at £18 and you’ll be able to pick from 17 Mbit/secs, 38 Mbit/secs and 76 Mbit/secs speeds.
