Sony‘s PlayStation has gone from strength to strength, excluding the dark age that was the PS3. Sony’s PS4 has become the fastest-selling console in history, and it’s set to redefine how console games are played when the PlayStation VR virtual reality headset launches next year.

But what about the early days that helped form Sony’s video game success? Sony’s original PlayStation was the ultimate games console for the time. Nintendo may have launched the N64 only a year or two later, but Sony’s dominance was enough to ensure it won the generation.

While anyone can remember the likes of Crash Bandicoot, Lara Croft and the swathes of highly-stylised JRPG heroes, only a true PlayStation fan will be able to answer all 30 of these lesser-known PlayStation characters correctly. So, do you have what it takes?
