Miro is one of the best collaborative platforms on the market. It offers numerous interesting functions that make working in teams much more efficient. Since sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words, Miro allows its users to express themselves with emojis. The platform has a built-in app for emojis and stickers available to all users, regardless of the subscription plan.

If you’re interested in learning how to add emojis on Miro, you’ve come to the right place. This article will provide detailed, step-by-step instructions for adding emojis to the board or a contact.
How to Add an Emoji
Adding emojis to a Miro board allows you to give feedback to your coworkers, visualize your thoughts, and make work more fun. Keep in mind that adding emojis is currently possible only on the web version. While the Miro mobile app offers dozens of exciting features, it has limited functionality compared to the desktop version.
Follow the instructions below if you want to add emojis to a Miro board.
- Open your browser and go to Miro’s website. Log in to your account.
- Create a new board by pressing the plus sign or access an existing one.
- In the left menu, press the two arrows pointing toward the right.
- Press and hold “Stickers and Emojis” and add the icon to the menu on the left.
- Select the “Stickers and Emojis” icon and go to the “Emojis” tab.
- Choose an emoji and drag it to the desired location on the board. You can also click it, and the emoji will automatically appear on the board.
Miro allows you to add several emojis at once while the emoji library is open. You can do so by dragging them to the board or clicking them. If you choose the latter, the emojis will overlap on the board, so you’ll need to move them around later.
After adding an emoji to the board, you can resize it by selecting it and clicking one of the white dots in the corners. You can also rotate the emoji if you click it and then press and hold the rotate icon at the emoji’s bottom-left corner.
Since Miro offers hundreds of emojis in the library, you can use the search option to find a specific emoji much faster. All recently used emojis will be displayed below the search option.
Miro has the skin tone option, which is located below the search bar. Here, you can select a default skin tone, and all emojis whose skin tone can be changed will be shown in that tone.
Remember that the emojis’ appearance can vary depending on the operating system. The differences are minor, but it’s still important to point out that your coworkers may not see the exact same emoji as you.
Can I Add an Emoji to a Contact Name?
It’s currently not possible to add emojis to a contact name in Miro. Emojis can only be added to boards.
