Bought an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus on day one? Been hearing hissing noises from your device when using it for power-intensive applications? You’re not alone: some early iPhone 7 and 7 Plus adopters have been complaining that both phones produce hissing sounds when under strain.
Thankfully, all phones currently still continue to work, but a hissing phone certainly isn’t something you want to hold in your hand or put in your pocket. In fact, a hissing sound emanating from your phone could spark fears of an iPhone version of Samsung’s exploding Note 7 batteries.

But what could the hissing be? As the sound originates from heavy requests on the processor, 9to5Mac reports that it could be the A10 Fusion system on the chip itself.
As anyone who has read our iPhone 7 and 7 Plus reviews will know, our iPhone review units never had such issues. Not all users are experiencing these issues, so it’s likely the problem is down to a faulty batch of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus handsets.

Still, if you are having this problem with your iPhone, it’s best to let Apple know and try to get yours replaced as soon as possible.
