Apple revamps iPod range with new iPod Touch
After the release of the Apple Watch and numerous MacBook, iPhone and iMac updates, Apple has turned its attention to the iPod.
What began as a rumour on Igen, based on code in the latest iTunes 12.2 update has now been confirmed, with Apple announcing updates to iPod Touch, alongside a range of colours for the iPod Touches and smaller iPods – space grey, silver, gold, pink and blue. The new iPod Touch alone is also available in a fetching red shade.
The main improvement was left to the iPod Touch, which now benefits from the A8 chip – something Apple claims offers 10 times faster graphics performance. Alongside this, it’s getting an 8 megapixel iSight camera alongside an improved FaceTime HD front-facing camera. It runs iOS 8 out of the box.
The new iPod Touch is available now, starting at £159 for the 16GB model, rising to £199 for the 32GB model and £249 for the 64GB version. For the first time, the iPod Touch gets a 128GB version, but it’ll set you back £329.
