It’s also added Qello, a Japanese on-demand service for concerts and music documentaries, and Crunchyroll, an anime channel.

Out of those, Apple TV users in the UK get access to Sky News, Qello and Crunchyroll, as HBO Go and WatchESPN both require US cable subscriptions. The Sky News package includes access to an on-demand library of news stories, while Qello and Crunchyroll both require subscriptions.

Users can already watch films on Netflix and iTunes, videos on YouTube and Vimeo, sports channel MLB and content from the Wall Street Journal via Apple TV.

Users can access the new channels from today, Apple said. Users will need software version 5.3 to access the content, and the channels are only available to anyone with a second or third-generation Apple TV device.

The company also said it would bring its streaming radio service, iTunes Radio, to Apple TV this autumn.
