How to install Mobdro on your Android smartphone or tablet

Mobdro is the perfect tool for people who love watching TV on a tablet or smartphone. It’s an alternative to Kodi, which searches for free video streams online and then feeds them directly to the device, making it accessible and easy to use. Mobdro lets you watch everything from news and sports to movies and TV, but it’s only for Android devices.

Update: Mobdro currently does not work. It was disabled on March 11, 2021, due to losing a court battle to Premier League, which claimed that almost 43 million users watch sports illegally using the app.

The Mobdro website is still up and running, but they added a download link for an alternative app with similar uses.

Does that mean the app will return? It is possible, but there are no guarantees. After all, the website is still intact and provides links to alternative apps too.

Below, you’ll find the steps to install Mobdro, which you can try first to see if it comes back up again, or you can apply the same steps with a Mobdro alternative.

Please note that many addons contain content that isn’t officially licensed, and accessing such content could be illegal. In short, if the content is free, but looks too good to be true, then it probably is. The Mobdro website states that all content on the app is legal, yet it suggests using a VPN to prevent any issues. Use at your own risk.

You can choose from two different versions of Mobdro—free and premium with no ads. This information is still listed on the website as of July 24, 2021—if you need confirmation.

Mobdro isn’t hard to install, as long as you’ve got a compatible phone or tablet. However, installation differs based on the Android version, including Android 7 and lower, Android 8/9, and Android 10 and up. The app is not available on Google Play, and the various Android versions have different ways to allow unknown sources for third-party installations. Here’s how to do it.
