Alphr and Carbuyer Car Tech Awards 2016

Advances in technology have been a defining characteristic of new cars in recent years, with ever-increasing collaboration between carmakers and tech firms. It means more choice than ever for the consumer, but as buyers have little or no information about how good much of this new technology is, the Car Tech Awards seeks to deliver a definitive verdict.

Alphr and Carbuyer Car Tech Awards 2016

Over the past few months, experts from Carbuyer and Alphr have been syncing, streaming, prodding, swiping and pinching each and every major new car on the market today to find the best of the best.

We’ve been examining audio, connectivity, driving-assistance systems, satellite-navigation systems, self-parking technology, autonomous driving systems and safety innovations.

We’ve measured the best cars on sale in these key areas – but why?

It’s because these features have joined the list of must-haves for car buyers, joining reliability, value for money, practicality and whether a car is good to drive.

Motorists’ tech priorities are different so we’ve awarded cars in a variety of areas. And, to make them relevant to all new car buyers, we’ve split the market into models available for less than £25,000 and more than £25,000.

And we’ve delivered our definitive verdict on the Tech of the Year, the Tech Brand of the Year and the Tech Car of the Year – at above and below £25,000.
