How to Change Account Name in MetaMask on a PC

You can rename your accounts by unlocking your wallet via the MetaMask browser extension on your PC. Here’s how:

  1. Launch your browser, then access the MetaMask browser extension.
  2. Enter your password to “Unlock” your wallet.
  3. Click the vertical three-dot menu icon at the top right, selecting “Expand View.”
  4. To change the account name for the account displayed, again, click on the three-dot menu icon, then select “Account Details.”
  5. Click the edit pen icon on the right to change the name.
  6. When done, click the checkmark icon to save the new name, then close the window.
  7. If you need to change the name for other accounts, click on the round identicon at the top right to switch to that account.
  8. Select the account for the name you wish to change, then repeat steps 4-6.

How to Change Account Name in MetaMask on an iPhone

From your iPhone, you can rename an account using the mobile app. Follow these steps to change an account name:

  1. Access the MetaMask app and unlock your wallet. One of your accounts will display.
  2. Press and hold on the account name to change it. The new name will save automatically.
  3. To change the names of any of your other accounts, press the hamburger menu at the top left and select “Account details.”
  4. Tap on the dropdown arrow beside the account name, then choose the account for the name you wish to change.
  5. Again, long-press the account name to rename it and the new name will save automatically.

Follow the steps below to rename a MetaMask account from your Android device:

  1. Launch the MetaMask app and enter your password to unlock your wallet.
  2. Long-press on the account name to change it. The new name will save automatically.
  3. To switch to another account to rename, at the top left, press the three horizontal lines menu icon and select “Account details.”
  4. Press the pull-down arrow next to the account name, then tap the account you wish to rename.
