Matrox TripleHead2Go review

Although Windows will happily split itself across several panels, the TripleHead2Go fools it into thinking it’s on one huge monitor. Supporting up to three screens running at 1,280 x 1,024, it enables you to run Windows at a whopping horizontal resolution of 3,840 pixels. Despite some compatibility issues (particularly with ATi cards), there’s still a huge range of practical applications for such a wide resolution – for example, full-screen applications, such as games, give an incredibly immersive experience. It may seem expensive, but when you consider that Dell’s 30in monitor, the Dell UltraSharp 3007WFP, costs more than £1,000 and has a maximum resolution of 2,560 x 1,600, while three 19in ViewSonic VX924 monitors plus the TripleHead2Go will set you back about £850, it starts to look like better value.
