Western Digital’s pocket hard disk is truly tiny at only 46 x 60 x 10mm (WDH), and it weighs just 40g. The file-transfer speeds of 35Mb/sec write and 41Mb/sec read don’t rival those of a high-speed USB flash drive, but comparatively low speeds are a small price to pay for 6GB of storage on something barely the size of a matchbox. The USB connector is integrated, pulls out easily and can be rotated to plug into all but the most hemmed-in USB ports. Registering at Western Digital’s website allows you to download a useful synchronising tool too. The rugged casing, solid build quality and low price all but negate our apprehension of the basic one-year warranty, making the Passport Pocket Drive a fine purchase.
