AOpen i915Ga.EFRII review

AOpen’s 915-based board may be pricey but the features are crammed in. The integrated Extreme graphics offer perfectly good 2D quality and you can, of course, add a PCI Express card.

Two RAID controllers manage two Ultra ATA and six Serial ATA channels. There are frequency dividers between the FSB and both DIMM and expansion card slots – good for overclockers. We’re also fans of AOpen’s SilentTek feature, which offers more control over acoustics than most, including the spindle speeds of optical drives. All this is well and good, but if you’re not going to use these features, there’s a hefty premium to pay for this board.
