However, the steps you take to copy or sync these playlists to the iPhone will differ depending on which version of iTunes you have. In this article, we will take a look at how to do it on both iTunes 12 and iTunes 11. If you have an older version, we recommend you upgrade. So without any further ado, let’s check out the steps to get your favorite playlist from iTunes 12 or 11 onto your iPhone device.

How to Copy a Playlist from iTunes 12 to Your iPhone

Step 1: The first step is to launch iTunes on your computer and then plug your phone in and make sure it has been detected by iTunes.

Step 2: Next, navigate over to the left and click the Music icon, and then check the box for Sync Music.

Step 3: After that, you need to choose the option titled Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. In the playlists area, you will need to choose the playlist(s) that you want to copy to your iPhone.

Step 4: Once you do all of that and go ahead and complete the sync and apply it to your device, you will now have that playlist on your iPhone.

Step 1: Just like the last method, the first thing you will do is to launch iTunes on your computer and then connect your phone to the computer.

Step 2: A button should appear for your device, and you should click it.

Step 3: Once you have clicked the button, you need to select Add To…

Step 4: Once that is clicked and the content menu is open, you need to hit the Playlists button near the top of the screen.

Step 5: Then, simply drag the playlist or playlists that you want to add to the iPhone and once you are satisfied with your choices, hit Done and then Sync.

In addition to those ways, you can also download a program such as AnyTrans, iTransfer or any others, and they will be able to sync and copy playlists to your iPhone as well. These programs often come with extra/added features such as the ability to transfer playlists from your iPhone to iTunes, which iTunes cannot do on its own, unfortunately.

Whichever method you use or whatever program you decide on, as you can see, it is quite easy to transfer a playlist from iTunes to your iPhone. It can be done quickly, so you will be able to have your favorite songs and playlists on the go in no time at all!
