Black Friday deals: Amazon is selling its all-new Fire 7 tablet for £29.99

Amazon’s ability to stretch Black Friday beyond a single 24-hour period continues unabated. Over the past week, the company has treated us to bargain Amazon Echo devices, cheap Amazon Music Unlimited subscriptions and cut-price condoms in its Amazon Black Friday deals. Now it’s offering its All-New Fire 7 tablet for just £29.99

Black Friday deals: Amazon is selling its all-new Fire 7 tablet for £29.99

Although the tablet is far from the best on the market (it retails for £50 normally, so don’t expect miracles as we say in our review), it’s a solid product. “For £50, Amazon has delivered a pretty usable tablet for email, browsing and entertainment, particularly if you’re prepared to tie yourself into Amazon’s content ecosystem and embrace an Amazon Prime subscription,” Stuart Andrews wrote in our review.

Suffice it to say, for £20 less, it’s a steal. It’s available in black, canary yellow, punch red, and marine blue, and should you feel that 8GB of storage isn’t enough, for an extra tenner, you can get the 16GB model.

So, what are you actually getting? It’s a heavily modified Android device, with a quad-core 1.3GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. Its 7in display outputs a 1,024 x 600 resolution, meaning it has around 171 pixels per inch. It’s worth noting that the deal version of the Fire tablet includes special offers, meaning you’ll get promotions from Amazon on the lockscreen. The version without these intrusions isn’t reduced.

If that doesn’t appeal, Amazon is also offering a discount on the Fire TV Stick, offering it for sale for £25 instead of the usual £35.

That’s also a bit of a bargain. It’s a nice streaming device for making dumb TVs smart. “As with all streaming devices, there are some things the Amazon Fire TV Stick does well and some it doesn’t, and the selection of content is hit and miss for non-Prime customers,” wrote Vaughn Highfield in our review. “For those who do use Prime, however, it’s a very strong rival to the Chromecast 2 and probably the better choice.”

Earlier this week, the Fire 7 Kids tablet went on sale on on Friday 17 November for £69.99 (down from £99.99) and te larger Fire HD 8 Kids is on offer for £89.99, 31% cheaper than it’s £129.99 RRP.
