Best Amazon Prime Day 2017 Deals: Amazon slashes own brand products
Amazon Prime Day is back in 2017 with aplomb; members of the super speedy delivery service are eligible for a slew of fantastic deals. Whilst Amazon Prime Day officially falls on 11 July 2017, the floodgates open today at 6pm, meaning bargains are on the market for a generous 30 hour period.
As in the case of Prime Days of yore, many of Amazon’s best deals are on its own brand products. The Amazon Echo is most certainly not exempt, with a whopping £80 discount in the flash sale, slashing its usual £149.99 price tag to £79.99.
The Echo, Amazon’s Alexa-enabled home assistant, made headlines earlier this year after one canny six-year-old ‘unwittingly’ ordered a $170 dollhouse on the device. But the gadget has earned a reputation as the hub of the smarthome, allowing users to play music, turn lights on and off, and ask the device (read: Internet) questions, amongst innumerable other tasks.
What’s more, the Echo’s “mini-me” younger sibling – the Amazon Echo Dot – has been heartily discounted in the midst of Prime Day madness, with £15 off, reduced from £49.99 to £34.99. The Echo Dot functions in exactly the same way as the full-size Echo, only it doesn’t have a speaker attached. It’s aimed at people who already have decent speakers set up, and the Dot can be connected, either by wire or over Bluetooth.
And these aren’t the only Alexa-run devices that’ve been slashed for Amazon Prime Day. As of 6pm tonight, the all-new Fire TV Stick featuring Alexa Voice Remote will feature on the site for £29.99, a 25% markdown from its original price. The gadget is a streaming media player – a handy little device which you can use to stream content from a little resource pool we like to call the Internet, straight to your TV.
But remember, to qualify for megadeals on 21st century household staples like these, you’ve got to have an Amazon Prime account. Savvy consumers among you can sign up here.
