Those looking for something a bit bigger can snap up a 55in model for under £400, which isn’t bad either.

2. Philips 55in 4K Ultra-HD HDR OLED TV with Freeview HD (was £1,499, now £1,199)

OLED TV’s are the ultimate way to get a truly clear and crisp picture. In 4K, with HDR, you won’t find a better panel out there than an OLED one, which makes this 55in 4K HDR OLED TV from Philips an absolute steal at £1,200. You’ll also get Freeview HD, 30w speakers and Ambilight built in.

5. Sony Bravia 49in 4K HDR Smart TV (was £479, now £399)

Sony Bravia sets are, in short, fantastic. For under £400 you can pick up a 49in model of Sony’s great 4K HDR panel supported by Sony’s own Smart TV infrastructure. You can also record programmes easily by just plugging in a hard drive and selecting a show via Sony’s own in-TV menu. There’s also a 55in model on offer, but that’ll set you back an extra £90, so it’s up to you how much you value an extra six inches.
