The Mega Drive was a fantastic time for Sega. Before its Saturn sunk next to Sony’s PlayStation and Nintendo’s N64, and before the PlayStation 2 completely destroyed the Dreamcast, everybody wanted to be playing on the Mega Drive (or Genesis, if you grew up in the US).

Amongst the haze of endless Sonic the Hedgehog sequels and multiple clones of Golden Axe, there was a heady mix of some truly obscure gems. So, while you may know who Tails is or how to execute Vega’s Rolling Izuna Drop, can you name all 30 of these lesser-known Mega Drive characters?
