Google is once again tweaking its Maps app to add a small, yet incredibly useful, new tool. The latest helps you find the nearest parking place once you arrive at a destination.

The tool is only currently available on Android and is having a limited launch in 25 US cities, including Atlanta, Chicago, New York City and San Francisco. Users in these areas will need to update the app to enable the Find Parking feature, which will highlight nearby car parks. The feature is expected to roll out more widely, but Google has not said when or where.
As part of the same release, Google’s has updated the parking difficulty icons feature that launched earlier this year on both iOS and Android. This feature is now available in Alicante, Amsterdam, Copenhagen, Barcelona, Cologne, Darmstadt, Dusseldorf, London, Madrid, Malaga, Manchester, Milan, Montreal, Moscow, Munich, Paris, Prague, Rio de Janeiro, Rome, Sao Paulo, Stockholm, Stuttgart, Toronto, Valencia and Vancouver.
The Find Parking tool joins the feature that lets you find where you left your car using Google Maps. Similar to the notification received on iOS, after you exit your car your ‘Parking Location’ will be noted and sent to your Android phone. The card shows a map with the approximate location of your vehicle. You can additionally see other locations where you’ve recently parked using ‘Previous locations’.
