  3. Drag outward or inward to increase or decrease your left margin. But try not to drag the triangle or rectangle individually since this will change the look of your paragraphs and not the size of your margins.

Changingyour right margin with the ruler goes as follows:

  2. This will trigger the same arrow and blue line as with your left margin.
  3. Start dragging outward or inward to change the size of your right margin.

Finally,here’s what you need to do to change your top and bottom margins with theruler.

  1. Place the cursor on the area of your ruler where the shaded zone turns to white.
  2. You’ll again see an arrow and a horizontal blue line.
  3. Start dragging up or down to change the size of your margins.

Unfortunately,Android devices aren’t as flexible as their iOS counterparts when it comes tochanging Google Docs margins. The option doesn’t exist on the Google DocsAndroid app, but you still have some other formatting options you can access.Here’s how you can make some formatting changes to your file on an Androiddevice:

  1. Open a Google Docs file.
  2. Go to the “Edit” option represented by the pen symbol in the bottom right part of your screen.
  3. Press the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner of your display.
  4. Go to the “Page Setup” option.

How Do You Set Default GoogleDocs Margins?

If you’replanning on working with documents of the same layout, setting default pagemargins will save you some time in the file preparation stages. This way,you’ll have the same margins every time you enter a new Google Docs file.

Set yourdefault margins using this method:

  1. Create a new file or open an old one to start applying your default margins.
  2. Go to the “File” tab and select the “Page Setup” option.
  3. Type in the measurements for each of the four margins.

How to Change PageOrientation Settings in Your Docs File

The defaultsetting for the page orientation of your Google Docs files is portrait.However, landscape orientation may work better for some documents. You canchange the orientation in this way:

  1. Go to the “File” section at the upper-left corner of your screen.
  2. Choose “Page Setup” from the menu.
  3. In the “Orientation” section, select “Landscape.”
  4. Choose “Set as Default” if you want this to be your default orientation.

The easiestsolution to this problem is changing the size of your paper to A4, anddownloading the file as a PDF before printing it. This is how to do it:
