Changing Your Spotify Username

As for changing your username on Spotify, it turns out that it’s stillnot possible. Since this is your unique user identifier for Spotify, Spotify doesn’tallow you to change it. Even if you delete your account and create another, that won’t solve a thing. You’ll still get a random sequence of letters andnumbers for your username.

Although Spotify calls this a username, it’s more your unique account ID.You can’t use it to log in to the platform, nor can you change it. It’s justthe way Spotify identifies each user in its system, and there’s not much youcan do.

The problem arises when you create your own Spotify music playlist, for example. When someone sees it, they won’t know who created it. The only information about the creator is a seemingly random “username.”

Fortunately, Spotify recognized this problem and provided a solution.Instead of using the “username” as your public name or nickname, it’s added a “DisplayName” feature. While the username remains the same, now you can play aroundwith your display name and change it whenever you like.
