How to Get the Master Sword by Saving the Great Deku Tree

You need access to the Lost Woods to save the Deku tree. It will then provide you with the Master Sword location on the map. But, the only way to access it is through the underworld. The Minshi Wood chasm will provide you with an entry portal into the underworld.

Use Ascend to get to the Deku tree quicker. But it won’t be that straightforward. You will have to enter the chasm inside the Deku tree and fight Ganon and get rid of Gloom’s miasma. This means that you should stock your inventory with Sundelion and enough weapons to take on these two.

Once you have cleansed the Deku tree of the dark influence, it will unlock a quest for you. The Recovering the Hero’s Sword quest will highlight the Light Dragon location for you on the map. This is the location where you will find the Master Sword.

How to Get the Master Sword by Locating the Dragon’s Tears

This method is quite lengthy but also less combat-oriented. You will have to complete the Impa and Geoglyph Quest before unlocking the Dragon’s Tears Quest. There are 11 Geoglyphs in total and you must locate each one of them to avoid running around in circles. Hovering over the Great Sky islands will help you easily to spot the Geoglyphs.

Once you have found all the Geoglyphs and the 11 tears, you’ll be guided to the 12th tear in Akkala at coordinates (4535, 2143, 0000). Collecting this final tear will reveal the location of the Master Sword.

Note: You need to have two stamina wheels ready before embarking on the Dragon’s Tears quest. This is because the location disappears after a short while.

You may come across many tear memories when traversing the Sky Islands. The teardrops you collect should be solid and not an empty outline.

How to Get the Master Sword by Finding the Light Dragon

Until you complete specific quests on the map in Tears of the Kingdom, it will be difficult to spot the dragon. But. There are four dragons in Tears of the Kingdom, so which one has the Master Sword? The Light Dragon has a blue aura around its head which originates from the Master Sword. You will also notice some white and yellow hues around its head. Another way you can identify the Light Dragon is by using Link’s camera obtained from the Camera Work in the Depths quest. An info box with the name of the Dragon will appear above it.

Once you spot the Light Dragon, jump on her head and pull out the blade. The Master Sword is usually logged in between the Dragon’s eyes. Ensure that you have full stamina bars before getting on the Light Dragon, or you’ll be thrown off and end up injured. Now that you have the Master Sword, there’s nothing you won’t be able to slay in Tears of the Kingdom.

Riding on the Light Dragon will provide you with a height advantage to be able to strike at Ganondorf’s weak points. Use the Master Sword to hit the Demon Dragon’s Secret Stone. The Master Sword will help seal away the darkness brought by Gloom and ultimately defeat the Last Boss in Tears of the Kingdom.
