How to Use Slow Motion on OnePlus 6

Updates First

Before we continue, it might be important to stress that this hyper-cool feature wasn’t included in the earlier OnePlus 6. Fortunately enough, this was changed with the first major update.

How It Works

Unlike some of its main rivals, it offers you two different modes for using the Slow Motion video option. If you want to use the lower 720p resolution, it will give you 480 frames per second, but if you want to play around in higher 1080p resolution, you will get only 240 frames per second. You can test the two and see which one works better for you.

In theory, this is what you should get, but it’s much easier if we tell you that normal recorded video plays at 30 frames per second. This means that a one-second Slow Motion video recorded at 240 fps is going to take 8 seconds to play back, so actually eight times slower than the normal one.

How to Use It

  1. Obviously, before you do anything else, you’re going to have to open the camera app first. Once you are there, choose the Video option.

In case you didn’t know this earlier, here is a really cool one for you: if you slide up from the bottom of the screen of your phone, you will be greeted with several different recording modes for your videos.

  1. At the bottom left side you will see Slow Motion, so you need to tap it next and then you are good to go.
  2. When you are ready, start recording your Slow Motion video by clicking the large red record button, but keep in mind that Slow Motion videos cannot be longer than 60 seconds. If you don’t stop recording before the video hits the one minute mark, the phone will stop recording automatically.
  3. Once you’re done recording, go to your phone gallery and locate the recorded video. Once you open it there, you have the option to edit it by manually choosing the points at which the slow motion effect starts and where it ends.
  4. After you’re done with the process of editing, simply click the “Save” button at the top left corner and all the changes you’ve made will be saved. You can now share your new video masterpiece with all your friends.

Conclusion

Making a Slow Motion video on your OnePlus 6 is easy and takes virtually no time to master. Now go on, and keep playing around.
