HTC is planning an event next week, on 29 September, during which the company is heavily rumoured to announce a pair of new handsets.

While these handsets were previously thought to be the Butterfly 3 and the One A9, new reports claim that instead of the One A9, HTC will launch an updated One M9+ model at the event. The One A9 will then be officially unveiled a little later in October.
Regardless of whether or not HTC launch the One A9 next week, its existence seems to be further confirmed by new leaked photo, courtesy of Nowhereelse.fr.
While the photo is a little blurry, what’s clear from the image is that the HTC One A9 front panel is rocking some big bezels along with what looks to be a fingerprint sensor below the HTC logo. There also doesn’t seem to be any BoomSound speakers on the bottom end of the panel.
Altogether the alleged iPhone-like design of the One A9 is quite different from previous HTC handsets, with the mysterious rectangular button/fingerprint sensor being the most interesting addition.
Along with a fingerprint sensor, the rumoured specs for this mid-end device include a 5-inch 1080p AMOLED display, Snapdragon 617 processor, 16GB internal storage with micro SD card slot, 2GB RAM, 13-megapixel rear camera with OIS BSI sensor and 4-megapixel front facing camera.
