Call blocking is a very useful tool to deal with all the irritating callers who might be bothering you on daily basis. If you have a not-so-secret admirer that you don’t want to talk to or just want to get rid of the incessant telemarketers, there is no reason to hesitate blocking them.

It is very easy to block all or some of the calls on your iPhone XS. Take a look at some of the methods you can use to do this.
Block Individual Numbers
The quickest way to block individual numbers is from the Recents or Contacts lists in your iPhone XS. There are just a few steps you need to take to ensure that calls from a particular number cannot get through to you anymore.
1. Access the Phone App
Tap on the Phone app on your iPhone XS to access the menus. Select either Contacts or Recents to find the number you wish to block.
2. Tap on the “i” Icon
Browse your Recents list to find the number you wish to block. Then tap on the “i” icon next to the number to access more actions and the contact details.
3. Select Block This Caller
Once inside the contact details menu, swipe up to the bottom of the screen and tap Block This Caller. When you tap to block, a pop-up window will appear asking you to confirm the decision. Select Block Contact to confirm and you’ll stop receiving calls from that number.
You should note that the same principle applies for blocking numbers from your Contacts list. The only difference is that there is no “i” icon to tap. You just select the contact, swipe up, and tap Block This Contact.
Using Do Not Disturb Mode
Do Not Disturb is one of the silent modes that lets you block all incoming calls. You can even program the exact time frame during which you don’t wish to be bothered. This is what you need to do:
1. Access the Settings App
Tap on the Settings app to launch it and swipe up until you reach the Do Not Disturb menu.
2. Select the Options
Once you access the Do Not Disturb menu, there are more than a few options to choose from. You can manually trigger the mode by toggling on the button next to Manual. On the other hand, the Scheduled option gives you more flexibility in terms of selecting the time frame during which you don’t wish to be bothered.
It is advisable to keep the button next to Repeated Calls toggled on for emergency purposes. When this option is on, the call will get through if the same number calls you repeatedly within three minutes.
How to Unblock Numbers
If you decide that some of the blocked contacts no longer deserve to be on the blocked list, you can easily unblock them. Here is how to access the blocked numbers:
Settings App > Phone > Call Blocking and Identification
You need to tap Edit in the Call Blocking and Identification menu and select the red icon in front of the contact. To confirm your decision, select Unblock which will appear next to the contact after you tap on the red icon.
Conclusion
The methods outlined in this article should help you deal with all unwanted calls. However, if a caller manages to get around the block and continues bothering you, you should consider reporting them to your carrier.
