Kensington MicroSaver Notebook Lock review

Price when reviewed

If you’ve ever had a laptop stolen from your home or place of work then you’ll agree that £21 is a small price to pay for keeping it secure. The Kensington MicroSaver is a 6ft-long carbon-tempered steel cable with a Tbar lock at one end, fitting into the small rectangular slot that virtually all notebooks have these days. It’s an exceptionally robust bit of kit that should deter even the most determined of thieves, and it’s compatible with a good deal of other tempting IT equipment – projectors, LCDs and many desktop PCs can all be locked down. As long as you have a permanent structure handy to loop the cable around, then you can leave your laptop lying around with confidence.
