Like the Belkin, the V400 uses 2.4GHz RF wireless technology, but additionally boasts a dual laser (developed in conjunction with Philips) for better tracking – or so Logitech says. While we found cursor control smooth and precise on flat, patterned surfaces, it was no better than the Belkin on uneven or plain surfaces with no texture.

However, we like the way the USB receiver slots into the back of the mouse to turn it off – just as neat as the Belkin. If you don’t like the orange styling, there’s a grey version available. Overall, if you want a wireless mouse, this is the one to choose, but as it costs over twice as much as the wired mice here it just misses out on a Recommended award.
