This is probably the WORST thing you can spend £6 on

US retailer Walmart is currently selling an LG-made Android smartphone for less than $10 (About £6.50). Yes, that’s right, a full-android phone for the paltry sum of just $9.82.

This is probably the WORST thing you can spend £6 on

Running Android 4.4 KitKat, the TracFone-branded smartphone has a 3.8in touchscreen display, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and a 3-megapixel camera.  It does support both 3G and Wi-Fi, has 4GB of internal memory via supplied microSD card, and contains a 1,540 mAh battery; a Samsung Galaxy S6- or iPhone 6s-beater this isn’t.

Of course, Walmart’s bargain-basement price point is great for those who are jumping aboard the good-ship smartphone for the first time. But for £6 you are picking up a phone running a verison of Android with so many security holes Nestlé’s Aero would have been a more fitting chocolate bar to name it after.

The key question is, if the Wallmart-owned Asda brought a similar deal to the UK, would you buy it?

We have a feeling that this phone won’t make it into our list of the best smartphones in 2015.
