WATCH: This “real-life” Pong table looks incredible
Released in 1972, Pong is the one of the most recognised video games ever made – but that hasn’t stopped someone from putting their own spin on it. Daniel Perdomo’s version of Pong replaces a dodgy screen for physical sliders – and even a square ball – and it looks pretty fun to play, too.
At first glance, it might look like a hockey table, but everything in the Pong machine is mechanical. In the video below, you’ll see the Pong tablet being made – and its underside is a mess of pulleys, belts and circuits.
The attention to detail is impressive. Along with a square ball, there’s also an illuminated scoreboard and white glowing LEDs that line the side of the table. But the best bit? These actually glow brighter when struck with the “ball”.
If you’re already making space for one, I’ve got some bad news: Perdomo has only made the one model so far, but he could be looking to crowdfund the project in the future.
