The latest generation of games is awesome, with games consoles like the Xbox One and PS4 delivering 60fps gaming in crisp 1080p – but it’s nice to go back in time every so often. However, rather than hunt eBay or dig through the loft for old games consoles, you could always just pick up one of these: a Retro Freak Premium. Simply put, the Retro Freak Premium is a magic box that lets you play pretty much any old console game. The only thing missing is support for the original PlayStation, but some would argue that’s not a retro console – yet.

The “console” itself can actually be split into two parts: the actual machine and then a large adapter with slots for 11 separate formats. And which consoles you ask? The Famicom, Super Famicom and Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) are included as well as the Sega Mega Drive and Sega Genesis.
The Retro Freak Premium also includes support for the Game Boy, Game Boy Colour, Game Boy Advance, PC Engine, TurboGrafx-16 and PC Engine SuperGrafx. The console also comes with controller adapters for each system, but you can use Retro Freak’s own controller via USB.
Although the Retro Freak Premium is great for playing old games, it also adds some very 2016 features to make things easier: there’s 720p upscaling and even optional internal memory to back up your precious old games. And how much will it cost? The Retro Freak Premium costs £140 if you order here – so not too expensive.
