We’re nearing peak emoji. People have emoji tattoos. They’re selling emoji pillows on street corners. Children have abandoned words in favour of grotesque facial contortions. It’s only a matter of time before someone grafts a crying-with-laughter expression onto their own cheeks.
Pub games will be safe, you say. You’re wrong. A French creative has turned a pool table into an emoji paddock. Jean-Baptiste Henri Franck Cyrille Marie Le Divelec (JB for short) works in Shanghai with a marketing agency. “After we received at pool table at the agency,” he writes on his website, “I made my own pool table set made of emojis with some friends because why not?”
I’ll tell you why not. Because you can’t play pool if all the balls are the same colour.
