Microsoft Sidewinder X6 Keyboard review

Price when reviewed

Gamers demand more from their keyboards than most. Not only do they require indestructible build quality to withstand frantic key bashing, but they also want macro recording, media keys and, if possible, some superfluous LEDs to add interest. Microsoft’s latest ticks all of these boxes, plus it has an unusual trick: the number pad, attached to the main device magnetically, can be pulled off and moved to the other side of the Qwerty keys. A dimmable two-colour backlight also proves useful in a darkened room. This all makes for a convincing product, but at ?37 exc VAT it’s slightly disappointing that the board isn’t wireless.
