The upcoming smartphones of 2019

Over the course of 2018 we saw some amazing new smartphones, from Apple’s iPhone Xs range and Google’s Pixel 3 to the Huawei P20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S9, and OnePlus 6. It’s been a great year for phones, and things can only go up from here.

The upcoming smartphones of 2019

We’ve already seen some leaks and hints as to what new phones will release early in the year, and further on we can expect patterns to continue — even an apocalypse wouldn’t stop Apple releasing a new phone every year!

Here are the most interesting smartphones that we expect to release in 2019.

Upcoming smartphones of 2019

iPhone 2019

Of course Apple will release a new device next year, but seeing as how the iPhone Xs range hasn’t performed as well as hoped, it’ll be interesting to see what features Apple bring to the iPhone 2019. A leak has suggested the phone will return to Touch ID security, and Time of Flight cameras to aid photography balancing.

New Huawei device

After Huawei’s incredible P20 Pro we’re extremely interested in what the company puts out next, particularly in its Pro range. Whether that’s a P30 or Mate device, it’s guaranteed to pose a legitimate threat to titans like Apple and Google.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 3

Xiaomi has only been operating in the UK for a few months now, but already it’s getting set to release a new handset to the market. We don’t know a whole lot about the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 just yet, other than that it’s just one of many devices Xiaomi have in store for the UK. Following in its predecessors’ footsteps, it’ll likely be a low-cost high-power model.

Samsung Galaxy X

No-one’s too sure what Samsung’s new foldable phone will be called, with speculators calling it the “Galaxy X”, “Galaxy F” or even “Galaxy Fold”. As the names suggest, it’ll be a fully foldable phone. While early glimpses of it make it look rather bulky and ugly, we’re still very intrigued as to what could come of it.

Samsung Galaxy S10

We’re big fans of the Samsung Galaxy S range, and the imminent Galaxy S10 is no exception. While Samsung seems to be treating it as a lesser device to the Galaxy X, the three-camera display, redesigned screen, and huge pixel count have us hooked.

New OnePlus device

We deemed the OnePlus 6T the best phone of 2018, so you can bet we’ve got high hopes for the 7 or 7T (or whatever it ends up being called). However when it launched OnePlus didn’t have competition from Xaomi, so could that end up changing their approach to a new device?

New Honor Phone

It’s already been confirmed that the new Honor phone, which will launch early 2019, will have 5G. Honor is remaining a little tight-lipped for a phone whose competitor came out half a year ago  — we know as much about the new one as we do the new iPhone, whose release is much further in the future — but our ears are peeled for new information.
