Elonex enters the eBook market

Budget PC maker Elonex has thrown its hat into the eBook ring.

Elonex enters the eBook market

The Elonex eBook has a 6in monochrome e-Ink screen, which can be used in either landscape or portrait mode.

The device is 9mm thick and weighs only 180g according to the company.

The Elonex reader comes pre-loaded with 100 (presumably out-of-copyright) eBooks stored on its internal memory. Those seeking more storage are offered a 4GB SD Card and leather case as part of the optional £29 Accessory Pack.

The device is compatible with Adobe’s Digital Editions software, which is used by many of the eBook stores, and supports DRM-protected PDFs and books published in the ePub format.

The reader is rather light on additional extras, with only a Sudoku game to keep you entertained aside from the books.

The Elonex eBook will be available from Borders Stores for £189.
