China will not try to limit use of Google’s Android mobile phone platform, according to the country’s IT regulator.

China would not limit any platform as long as it complied with Chinese law, Ministry of Industry and Information Technology spokesman Zhu Hongren said, responding to a question on whether Android would be affected by a dispute between China and Google.
The search giant postponed the launch of two Android phones in China last week, while it continued to negotiate with the Chinese authorities.
Google said earlier this month it may shut its Chinese-language google.cn website and offices in China following a cyber-attack originating from the country, which also targeted other firms.
Google has said it wants to talk to the Chinese Government; however, Beijing remains silent on whether it has met with the technology giant.
