O2 to sell Dell Mini 5 tablet from June

The announcement came from Michael Dell, founder and chief executive of the hardware giant, during a Citrix conference in San Francisco.

Showing off the device at the conference, Dell told the crowd: “This [tablet] will be available starting next month, first with our partner 02 Telefonica in Europe, then later this summer with our pretty good partner here in the United States, AT&T.”

The Dell Mini 5 – now known as The Streak – was first paraded during the CES conference in Las Vegas back in January, as well as at Mobile World Congress later in the year.

The exact launch date and pricing has yet to be unveiled.

A spokesperson for Dell said he was unable to confirm any of the details from Michael Dell’s speech, while O2 said it had yet to make any announcements around the company’s product portfolio.
