Mozilla has released yet another beta of Firefox 4, as the protracted development of the next-generation browser continues.

There are no new features in this latest release – the browser was effectively feature-locked with last month’s seventh beta. Instead, Mozilla has been concentrating on polishing existing features and squashing outstanding bugs.
The Firefox 4 beta 8 release notes say the new release has improved the browser’s sync service, in addition to various performance enhancements.
Mozilla has also published an enormous list of bugs that have been eradicated with the latest release.
The browser is officially due to launch early next year, although the Mozilla release schedule suggests that there could be a ninth and even a tenth beta, not to mention a release candidate, before the browser is finally completed.
The first beta of Firefox 4 was released back in July.
