Sood to bring Voodoo magic to Microsoft

Rahul Sood, the founder of enthusiast PC maker VoodooPC, has announced he’s joining Microsoft.

Sood to bring Voodoo magic to Microsoft

Sood is currently working his notice as the chief technology officer of HP’s Global Voodoo Business Unit. HP acquired Voodoo back in 2006, and he stuck with the company until announcing his resignation last month.

Now he’s announced he’s taking up a senior role at Microsoft. “Well, it’s probably time I let the cat out of the bag,” the 37-year-old announced on the Rahul Sood blog.

“I am happy to announce that I’ll be joining Microsoft as the GM for system experience in the Interactive Entertainment Business.”

“I’ll be working on some really, really, really cool stuff come January 2011,” he added.

Sood will help fill the gaps created by recent high-profile departures in Microsoft’s entertainment division. The division’s president, Robbie Bach, retired from the company earlier this year, amid allegations that he was asked to leave.

Microsoft also lost J Allard, the man behind the launch of the Xbox console.
