WTF? US security chiefs to probe WikiLeaks
The CIA has set up a special team of investigators to probe what damage has been done by the series of WikiLeaks outpourings of classified documents.
The official name of the team is the WikiLeaks Task Force, but it has quickly been shortened by staff on the Langley campus to its excellent acronym – WTF – which is all too apt given the shock that the whistle-blowing website has dealt to US security officials.
“The director asked the task force to examine whether the latest release of WikiLeaks documents might affect the agency’s foreign relationships or operations,” CIA spokesman George Little told the Washington Post.
The panel will be led by the CIA’s Counterintelligence Center, but will involve more than two dozen agents from several CIA departments.
