Apple to unveil iPad 2 next week
Apple is set to take the wraps off the next version of the iPad at an event on 2 March.
The tech giant sent out an invite to journalists today, teasing a “special event” with an image of what looks to be one corner of the iPad 2.
The much speculated upon release follows weeks of rumours about possible delays to the device, as well as what new features to expect – the top bets so far seem to be that the iPad 2 will be thinner, feature a camera, and support USB.
We’ll be at the UK event, so check back on the site for the full news next Wednesday.
Another topic under much discussion is whether Steve Jobs will show up for the event. The CEO has been on medical leave since last month, with COO Tim Cook again left in charge. Jobs attended a dinner for the tech elite at the White House last week.
An Apple shareholders event this evening looks set to raise the topic of a succession plan for the firm.
