Amazon will bring its Kindle Fire tablet to the UK in January next year, according to reports.

The retail giant’s Kindle Fire was launched in the US earlier this year, but the company has refused to detail whether it will make the cut-price Android device available in Britain.
Now a source close to the launch has told our sister site knowyourmobile.com that the slate will be hitting the UK in January, presumably after the company has shipped plenty of ebooks readers in the Christmas rush.
The Kindle Fire has attracted attention since its launch because the price point suggests it may be the first tablet to pose a serious threat to the market dominance of Apple’s iPad.
According to research firm Evercore Partners, the Fire could seize 50% of the Android tablet market, while its price – $199 in the US – could make it an attractive alternative for consumers seeking a cheap alternative to the £400 iPad.
