Blinkbox will make its range of streaming films and TV programs available to Tesco Clubcard holders free of charge, it was announced today.

Designed to “reward our customers’ loyalty”, the service is currently running as a closed beta for Tesco’s army of over a quarter of a million UK employees.
The service will reportedly go live to 15 million Clubcard holders in the UK this Spring.
PC Pro is awaiting a response from Blinkbox and Tesco regarding the amount of Blinkbox content to be made available, and whether the free service will include access to Blinkbox content on platforms such as Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. Currently, the site’s help section makes reference to connecting a PC or laptop to a TV and nothing else.
Tesco bought an 80% share in Blinkbox in April 2011, and the service is normally pay as you go to its two million users, with streaming film rentals available for £3.49 and TV episodes available to buy for £1.49.
