Microsoft has issued another round of updates for its Surface tablets, mostly focusing on the Surface 2.

The Surface 2 updates improve performance in the Type and Touch Covers, and boost wireless display performance, Microsoft said.
The update tweaks the camera and audio, too, addressing issues with “switching to speaker playback after disconnecting a headset”. Microsoft additionally promises a boost to battery life and improved system stability.
This round of Surface tweaks follows an update released last month, which also addressed the Type and Touch Covers, Wi-Fi network performance and battery life, suggesting Microsoft had been looking to improve those areas.
Microsoft didn’t release an update for the Surface Pro 2, but did release one for the previous generation tablets.
Both will now support the second-generation of the Japanese Touch and Type Cover, while Surface Pro tablets running Windows 8.1 will see improved colours via the webcam driver, as well as a boost to wireless performance.
