Microsoft has released its advanced notification for May’s security update, out next week.
The bulletin will include three patches covering Windows and Exchange with maximum ratings of critical for all three.
For Exchange, the update will include a fix for users having trouble sending email from mobile devices or from a shared mailbox in Exchange 2000 Server and in Exchange Server 2003, as detailed in Knowledge Base article 912918.
The updates may require system restarts and will be detectable using the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer.
Microsoft will also release an update of the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool as well as two high priority non-security updates via Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services.
May’s security update is scheduled for Tuesday 9 May.
