Jonathan Schwartz, the outgoing boss of Sun Microsystems, has signed off with an unusual update to his Twitter account.
Sun CEO Schwartz has been the highest profile casualty of the Oracle takeover, although confusion remains over whether he left the company of his own volition or was asked to leave.
Schwartz’s final Tweet certainly suggests a hint of bitterness at the manner of his departure.
“Today’s my last day at Sun,” Schwartz tweeted. “I’ll miss it. Seems only fitting to end on a #haiku. Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more.”
Schwartz had last week written a farewell blog post which showed signs of tension with the new owners. Despite wishing the new entity the best of luck and proclaiming “Oracle’s takeoff and ascent will be fast and dramatic”, he rather pointedly signed off with:

Schwartz’s farewell contrasts sharply with the uncharacteristically self-deprecating message issued by Sun founder Scott McNealy, in which he described himself as “a big mouth always ready with a clever quip”.
