UPDATED: ViewSonic issues customer service bulletin for VX LCDs

ViewSonic has issued a customer service bulletin for its VX range of its LCD displays, regarding the screen not sitting square to the stand. It is not believed to be a large scale problem: ‘There have been two reported incidents regarding the above this year during which time ViewSonic has sold 15,000 units of these two models,’ said ViewSonic.

Specifically, the model numbers are: VX922,VX924, VX724, VX715. The serial numbers of the machines affected are: P21,PMQ,PV0,P21,PL5,PSN,PXU,Q5A,PS3.

According to ViewSonic, the alignment of the screen can be adjusted easily by:

1. Removing the plastic cable tidy cover (normal user function)

2. Loosening x4 screws on the stand (see picture)

3. Aligning the screen and re-tighten the 4 screws

Users calling the call-desk will be given the above advice and ViewSonic feel that users would rather make this simple adjustment immediately rather than waiting for a replacement monitor. However, in cases where the user is unable to do so, ViewSonic says that it will honour the warranty on the product.

‘Due to tolerance of aligning the screen, some VX922 and VX924 monitors may show a slight screen tilt. This does not occur on all units but we note that it is an annoyance to the user when this is evident,’ said a ViewSonic spokesperson.
