Mozilla has released Thunderbird 2.0, the new version of its open source email client.

The release comes less than a week after Release Candidate 1, which established the final feature set.
‘Thunderbird 2 offers easy ways to manage and organise your email with message tags, advanced folder views, message history navigation, find as you type, and improved new mail alert notifications,’ said Scott MacGregor of Team Thunderbird. ‘Thunderbird 2 also includes a refreshed user interface and support for Microsoft Vista.’
Thunderbird 2 is available for Mac, Linux and Windows in 35 languages from mozilla.com/thunderbird. Thunderbird 1.5.0.x users will be offered Thunderbird 2 via the integrated software update tool at a later date. Anyone wishing to upgrade immediately must install it via the standalone download.
