Tesco to sell software in more stores
Tesco is to more than double the number of stores stocking its range of home PC software.
The retail giant has to-date sold more than 25,000 copies of the six low price titles in 150 stores. They will now be available in 365 outlets, with a new “buy one get one free” Back to School offer.
“We are really pleased with the sell through of the own brand software to date and have taken the opportunity as part of our summer range change to increase the store distribution,’ said Tesco buyer Daniel Cook.

“We will then review the range and product as we move into Christmas to ensure the range is the best we can offer our customers.”
So far the best seller has been Tesco Antivirus & Antispyware followed by Tesco Internet Security and Tesco Complete Office. The other titles in the range are Personal Finance, Photo Restyle and Easy Record. All six titles cost less than £20 each.
Formjet, which developed the software for Tesco, is currently planning updates and new titles for releases later this year.
“We are delighted with the success of the Tesco branded software,” said chief executive Tony Lee. “The strong level of sales has prompted the extended roll out of the software and we look forward to further strengthening our relationship with Tesco in the coming months.”
