It’s easy for a retailer to become complacent once it has gained a loyal user base, and high standards are hard to maintain once achieved. But the three companies occupying the winning and highly commended positions in this year’s awards have done just that, mirroring exactly the roll of honour from 2006.

CCL has again taken the top spot, with high levels of customer service and delivery. Impressively, it has kept these levels up even while lowering prices, according to your glowing opinions on value.
Laptops Direct was not far behind, with a 92% score in delivery, customer satisfaction and value. More Computers was again so close to Laptops Direct in the results, that both shared the highly commended award.
More Computers received far fewer responses than its competitors, but this small userbase was quick to praise the retailer.
Tellingly, all three of the winning retailers are online-only businesses. High Street retailers faired much worse, showing that perhaps it’s best to do one thing, and do it well.
Argos and Dixons both finished towards the bottom of our table, with poor results for customer satisfaction and delivery, although Argos was the better of the two.
The worst-performing of all was PC World, which managed to score the lowest in each of our categories.
