Eye-Fi introduces wireless support for iPhoto

The standard Eye-Fi memory card allows users to transfer pictures over a wireless connection from their card to their computer, sparing them the hassle of rooting through drawers for old data cables.

The new features, announced at Macworld and available as a downloadable update, allow users to upload their photos directly to iPhoto or to a host of online photo sharing sites including Flickr and Picasa, though bizarrely not .Mac.

The upgrade also allows Mac users to use the Safari 3 browser to access the web-based Eye-Fi Manager for managing card settings.

The Eye-Fi card is currently only available in the US, though we’re certain it will be hitting these shores eventually. It has a 2GB capacity and costs $99.
