Internet Service Provider TalkTalk is offering a broadband package that allows customers to boost speeds and data caps as they require.

Under the scheme customers start out with a basic £6.49 per month package that offers an 8MB connection, 40GB download allowance and unlimited evening and weekend phone calls to UK landlines. Customers are also subject to a £10.50 per month line rental charge.
Customers can then bolt on extra features as they require them, boosting the connection speed to 24Mb/sec, or adding an additional 40GB to the download cap, for example.
TalkTalk’s connection boost option will also come with a speed test allowing consumers to see what they are actually getting. TalkTalk claims if customers aren’t happy their new connection speed they can get their money back.
There’s also a half-price mobile calls option, and an option to sign up for free anytime landline calls.
The bolt-ons can be activated at any time, and will each cost an extra £4 per month.
“People’s communication needs are constantly changing and we need to provide a phone and broadband service that reflects this,” says Wendy Becker, managing director of TalkTalk.
New customers will need to pay a one-off connection fee of £29.99, and sign an 18 month contract.
